an A.D.D. sufferer's weekend recap:
May. 10th, 2004 11:22 amOk so um....friday I worked, when I got off work I called Katie and was called by at least but not limited to BJ and Tammy. I basically let everyone know that a nap was inevitable and that I'd get up and call them all back. Heh. I didn't get back up until at least 1am. I really needed that nap. Anyhow, I didn't feel like calling any of my friends back, because I thought it'd just be too rude to do so, at such a late time. So, I just deleted voicemail and moved on. Hali got home from work and whether through necessity on her part or mine, we spent some time together. We played videogames and veg'd out.
Next "morning" there was, um stuff, and pancakes and we veg'd out some more. Then she was off to work and I had to fight with BJ (as I always do) to get him to follow the plans that he himself made. So, we met Denis at his place of employment and discussed the up and coming show. I decided to break out the old minolta and take some band pics! After work, Denis and I got sushi, BJ and Barack met up with us, and we all headed down to Ft. Lauderdale to get our rock on. Saw a bit of what seemed like parking lot drama as well as a fire. bought some beer, drank it....Dooms De Pop got on stage, I fumbled with my old manual camera and took pics. I experimented both with and without flash so let's hope I had a steady hand that night. I know at least a quarter of the pics I took are going to come out shitty. I had the flash setup incorrectly. I have a feeling that more like 50-70% of the pics will come out incorrectly. I am used to broad daylight outdoor shots. I could tell you your apeture and speed settings depending on the weather. This was my first time doing indoor lowlight band photography. Not to mention it was one of the rare times I used color film.
Speaking of that, Jenny and I got to talking about setting up a darkroom in Boca and that got me really excited because that would mean a return to one of the arts that I love, including all the bulk loading, sudsy developing, and stinky chemical printing that it entails. That'd be great! Then, we all went home, Denis and Jenny stopped by...I think we bored Denis to sleep...so then they left, I went to bed.
Mother's day was, you know, buying stuff and giving it to Mom, hanging with the family, etc. I don't really need to describe it because I am sure most of us know how it goes.
Today, I bought some claritin 'cause I was all sneezy and dropped the film of the concert off to be processed - I can't pick it up till thursday because I asked for Kodak Pro Processing or whatever the fuck it's called because I want to see if they can salvage whatever weird stuff I did.
And that's that!
